Cozy Kids Project: Keeping Kashmir’s Children Warm This Winter

As the first snowflakes fall across the breathtaking valleys of Azad Kashmir, a silent crisis begins to unfold. The beautiful landscape transforms into a frozen wilderness, where temperatures plunge below zero, roads are buried under heavy snow, and entire villages become cut off from the outside world.

This is what is being expected between November and March!

For families living in poverty, this change of season is not magical, it is life-threatening. Children are especially at risk, with many facing hypothermia, pneumonia, frostbite, and malnutrition as their families struggle to keep them safe and warm.

This winter, the Cozy Kids Project, launched by the Kashmir Welfare Foundation, is on a mission to protect vulnerable children and provide them with warmth, comfort, and hope. With your support, we can save lives and bring relief to those who need it most.

The Harsh Reality of Winter in Azad Kashmir

Winters in Kashmir are among the harshest in the world.
While snow-capped mountains may look picture-perfect, the reality for families living in poverty is devastating.

  • Homes made of mud and wood provide little insulation against freezing temperatures.
  • Many families cannot afford winter clothing or blankets for their children.
  • Snow-blocked roads cut off access to hospitals, schools, and food supplies.
  • Malnutrition worsens as food becomes scarce and costly during the winter months.

For thousands of children, these conditions are a daily battle for survival. Without urgent help, the bitter cold can be deadly.

What is the Cozy Kids Project?

The Cozy Kids Winter Project was created to protect vulnerable children in Azad Kashmir during the coldest months of the year.

Our mission is simple yet vital: to provide winter essentials that give children a fighting chance against the extreme cold. These essential items include:

  • Warm blankets for comfort and protection
  • Winter clothing such as sweaters, scarves, gloves, and socks
  • Food packs to prevent hunger and malnutrition
  • Heating supplies to help families keep their homes warm

Every donation you make goes directly toward saving lives and restoring dignity to children living in the harshest winter conditions.

How Your Donation Can Make a Difference

With just a small contribution, you can make a life-changing impact for a child in Kashmir this winter. Here’s how you can help:

  • £10 – Winter Pack for One Child
Provide all the winter essentials, including warm gloves, a scarf, socks, sweaters, and other vital items.
  • £100 – Winter Pack for Ten Children
Protect ten children from the freezing cold with full winter packs.
  • £300 – Winter Pack for a Whole Class (30 Children)
Give an entire classroom the warmth and protection they need to survive winter.
  • £750 – Winter Bazaar (Over 1,000 Items)
Support our Winter Bazaar initiative, where children can choose their own winter essentials — selecting colors, sizes, and items they truly need.

Every donation matters. Even the smallest gift can help a child survive the winter and bring warmth to their heart.

Beyond Clothing: Winter Food Packs and Hot Meals

The winter struggle isn’t just about staying warm — hunger is another deadly threat.
Snowfall often disrupts food supplies, and many families cannot afford nutritious meals.

You can also support by donating:

  • Winter Food Packs – Providing essential food for families struggling to survive the winter months.
  • Winter Hot Meals – Giving vulnerable children and families warm, nourishing meals when they need them most.

These food-focused initiatives ensure that children receive both warmth and nutrition, giving them the strength to thrive even in extreme conditions.

Stay Cozy, Stay Warm: More Than Just Physical Comfort

The Cozy Kids initiative goes beyond distributing clothes and food. It is about restoring dignity and hope to those who have been forgotten.

Many of the children we serve come from extremely vulnerable backgrounds such as orphans, children of widows, and families displaced by poverty or conflict. For them, receiving a winter pack is more than just physical relief; it’s a symbol of care and compassion.

When a child puts on a warm sweater or scarf, they know that someone across the world cares about them. This emotional warmth is just as important as physical protection against the cold.

Our Commitment to Transparency and Quality

At Kashmir Welfare Foundation, we hold ourselves to the highest international standards.
Every item we distribute is carefully chosen for quality, durability, and effectiveness.

Our local teams work tirelessly to ensure your donations reach the most remote and underserved areas, including regions near the Line of Control (LOC) where poverty is highest and resources are scarce.

Thanks to our volunteers and supporters, we’ve been able to reach thousands of families every winter — and with your help, we can reach thousands more this year.

Why Your Support is Urgent

Without urgent intervention, countless children will face the harshest months of the year without proper protection, leaving them vulnerable to illness, hunger, and even death.

Your donation today can prevent this tragedy.
