Staying committed to our 100% Donations Policy
Kashmir Welfare Foundation is a 100% Donations Policy charity that distributes your Zakat, Sadaqah, Khairat, Lillah, Fidya, Kaffara Fitrana and other donations in Azad Kashmir, where 100% of whatever you donate gets used on the end cause. As a small UK Based charity, much of our operational costs are covered by our business networks. We don’t have massive costs like trustee or director salaries. We don’t have rent or other running costs of large offices or buildings here in the UK.
Additionally, our marketing costs are low as we don’t rely on extensive paid advertising or vasts amounts of pointless printed materials and we don’t send out letters or leaflets through post.
An Inevitable Reality
Running and managing a charitable organisation like Kashmir Welfare Foundation involves inherent expenses. Although we operate without paid personnel in both the UK and Kashmir, essential costs such as banking charges, foreign exchange fees, marketing, printing, website maintenance, and various other expenditures are incurred.
These costs are crucial to ensure the effective functioning of our fundraising activities and the successful realisation of our charitable goals. While our commitment remains unwavering in directing the maximum possible funds to our charitable initiatives, these operational expenses are necessary to maintain transparency, efficiency, and the overall effectiveness of our organisation.
Minimising Running Costs
Acknowledging that charity running costs are inevitable, we are dedicated to maintaining them at the absolute minimum. Our commitment to efficiency and responsible financial management ensures that a significant portion of your contributions directly reaches those in need.
Through diligent oversight and strategic decision-making, we strive to maximise the impact of every donation while minimising operational expenses. This approach reflects our unwavering dedication to transparency and the effective utilisation of resources in pursuit of our charitable objectives.
Optimising Project Budgets
We further optimise our charity administration costs by implementing meticulous budget management for each individual project. A key strategy involves preventing the overlap of Zakat and Sadqah donations across different projects.
By maintaining a clear distinction between various funding sources and projects, we not only enhance financial accountability but also streamline our operations, contributing to the overall effectiveness of Kashmir Welfare Foundation in serving the communities we aim to support.
Leveraging Gift Aid
Our commitment to transparency and effective use of funds extends to prioritising the utilisation of Gift Aid (provided by UK donors) when covering our running costs. By leveraging Gift Aid, we maximise the impact of your donation, ensuring that all of your money is directed toward the specific projects you’ve generously contributed to.
Almost 80% of our donors gift aided their contributions in the last year. Your trust in us is paramount, and we continually strive to enhance the positive impact of every donation received.
Other Contributions
In addition to Gift Aid, we offer donors the opportunity to contribute towards our running costs at the point of donation. Our system is designed to calculate an estimated amount, incorporating banking fees and other administrative costs.
More then 70% of people that donated to our campaigns last year also opted to help cover the administration costs by ticking this option. Your contributions towards running costs play a crucial role in sustaining our operations and maximising the impact of our projects.
Your Amanah (Trust)
We recognise the profound amanah (trust) bestowed upon us by accepting Zakat donations and undertaking their distribution on the ground.
The weight of this responsibility is substantial, and we are acutely aware of it. Devoting considerable time, energy, and thorough research, we strive to ensure the most effective and responsible methods for Zakat distribution.
This commitment is not only for the benefit of our donors but also for our own accountability to Allah, underscoring the gravity of our role in managing these sacred contributions.
