Aqeeqah: Celebrate A Blessed Beginning

For a boy: It is recommended to sacrifice 2 animals
For a girl: It is recommended to sacrifice 1 animal.

The birth of a child is one of Allah’s greatest blessings. It is a moment filled with gratitude, joy and hope for the future. Families gather in celebration, prayers are made for the newborn and hearts are filled with excitement for the journey ahead.

Islam encourages us to mark this special occasion through Aqeeqah, a beautiful Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ that combines gratitude, worship and charity. It is an opportunity to thank Allah for the gift of a child whilst sharing that blessing with others.

Through Aqeeqah, a moment of personal happiness becomes a source of relief and joy for families in need across Azad Kashmir.

A Sunnah Of Gratitude And Blessing

Aqeeqah is more than the sacrifice of an animal. It is an act of gratitude to Allah for the blessing of a child and a means of seeking goodness and protection for their future. For generations, Muslim families have observed this Sunnah as a way of celebrating a new life whilst strengthening bonds within the wider community.

The Prophet ﷺ encouraged Aqeeqah for newborn children, teaching us to express our gratitude through acts of worship and generosity. By fulfilling this Sunnah, parents not only celebrate their child’s arrival but also ensure that vulnerable families benefit from their happiness.

It is a beautiful reminder that blessings grow when they are shared.

Turning Joy Into Relief

For many families across Azad Kashmir, meat is not a regular part of daily life. Rising costs, poverty and limited income mean that nutritious meals are often beyond reach. Many households can only afford meat on rare occasions, whilst others may go months without enjoying it at all.

Your Aqeeqah can change that.

The meat from your sacrifice is distributed directly to vulnerable families, widows, orphans and households facing hardship. What begins as a celebration for your newborn becomes a source of relief for people who may otherwise struggle to provide nutritious food for their loved ones.

The joy of one family becomes a blessing for many others.

Sharing The Blessings Of A New Life

Every child is a gift from Allah. Every birth brings with it hopes, dreams and countless opportunities. Aqeeqah allows parents to honour that gift in a way that benefits both their own family and those around them.

Whilst your family celebrates the arrival of a newborn, another family receives food they may not have been able to afford. Children enjoy nutritious meals. Parents experience relief from financial pressure. Communities come together through an act of kindness rooted in faith.

This is one of the reasons Aqeeqah remains such a beautiful Sunnah. It connects gratitude with generosity and worship with compassion.

Performed According To Islamic Guidelines

When fulfilling your Aqeeqah through Kashmir Welfare Foundation, you can do so with confidence and peace of mind. Every sacrifice is carried out according to Islamic principles and with the care this important act of worship deserves.

Animals selected for Aqeeqah are healthy, eligible and free from defects. The sacrifice is performed correctly and humanely, and the meat is distributed to those who need it most. Our local teams work directly within communities across Azad Kashmir, ensuring that your donation reaches vulnerable families quickly and effectively.

We understand that Aqeeqah is an important Sunnah, and we treat every donation with the respect and responsibility it deserves.

Following The Sunnah Of The Prophet ﷺ

The Prophet ﷺ taught that two animals should be sacrificed for a boy and one animal for a girl. Whilst it is recommended to perform Aqeeqah on the seventh day after birth, it can also be performed later if circumstances prevent it from taking place at the preferred time.

Many parents choose to perform Aqeeqah as soon as possible, whilst others fulfil this Sunnah months or even years later. The important thing is ensuring that the act is carried out sincerely for the sake of Allah and in accordance with Islamic guidance.

Whenever you choose to perform your Aqeeqah, the reward and benefit remain significant.

Reaching Families Across Azad Kashmir

Kashmir Welfare Foundation performs Aqeeqah distributions across numerous districts throughout Azad Kashmir. From the communities of Mirpur and Kotli to the valleys of Muzaffarabad, Neelum, Bagh, Poonch and beyond, your donation reaches families facing genuine hardship.

Many of these communities experience poverty, limited employment opportunities and restricted access to resources. For vulnerable households, receiving meat through Aqeeqah can make a meaningful difference.

Our local presence allows us to identify those most in need and ensure that your sacrifice delivers maximum benefit to the people it was intended to support.

More Than A Donation

When you perform Aqeeqah, you are not simply purchasing an animal or making a charitable contribution.

You are fulfilling a Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.

You are expressing gratitude to Allah for one of life’s greatest blessings.

You are providing food to families in need.

You are creating smiles on the faces of children.

You are transforming a personal celebration into an act of worship that benefits an entire community.

That is the beauty of Aqeeqah. It combines faith, gratitude and compassion in a single act.

A Blessed Beginning For Your Child

As your child begins their journey through life, your Aqeeqah can bring relief to families who need it most. It can provide nourishment to the hungry, comfort to the struggling and support to vulnerable communities across Kashmir.
